Privacy Policy — Diskaroo
Last updated: May 13, 2026 · Effective: May 13, 2026
Bravely Studios LLC (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the Diskaroo application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our App.
Introduction
Diskaroo is a native disk-space visualizer for macOS and Windows. Your scans, folder structures, file names, and cleanup decisions stay on your device. We collect a small amount of information to process purchases, verify Pro access, deliver updates, and improve the app. This policy describes what is collected and how to limit it.
What We Collect
Scan data stays local. Diskaroo does not upload your file names, folder paths, scan contents, or the files you inspect or delete.
For Pro activation and entitlement checks: when you activate Diskaroo Pro, the app signs in to your Bravely Account and sends the account identifier needed to verify your purchase. The Windows app also includes a generated device identifier, device name, platform, and app version in activation requests for compatibility with the desktop activation flow and activation diagnostics. Payment card details and billing information are handled exclusively by our merchant-of-record billing provider — we never see or store them.
For product analytics: the desktop apps can send aggregate product analytics such as onboarding completion, paywall views, duplicate-scan usage, subscription activation results, and update installs. Events are keyed to an anonymous install identifier unless you activate Pro, in which case events may be associated with your Bravely Account so we can troubleshoot entitlement issues. File names, folder paths, scan contents, and deleted-file lists are never sent to analytics.
For automatic updates: the desktop apps periodically check bravely.dev for signed update feeds. These requests are used only to determine whether a newer app version is available.
Permissions & File Access
On macOS, Diskaroo requests Full Disk Access so it can include locations that macOS normally hides from third-party apps, such as Mail, Safari, Messages, and other protected folders. On Windows, Diskaroo uses standard file-system APIs and scans only the folders and drives you choose. In both cases, access is used solely to analyze disk usage on your device.
What We Do Not Collect
We do not collect any of the following:
• File contents, file names, or folder paths from your scans
• A list of files you trash or inspect
• Location data
• Contacts, calendars, photos, camera, or microphone data
• Advertising identifiers
• Browsing history from outside the app
Opting Out of Analytics
You can disable product analytics at any time in Settings → Privacy on each device. When disabled, no analytics events are sent from that installation. Purchase activation, entitlement checks, and update checks remain necessary for Pro access and auto-update to work while those features are in use.
Third-Party Services
We share the minimum information required to deliver the product with service providers that handle payments and billing, entitlement reconciliation, product analytics, hosting, downloads, and desktop update delivery. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising.
Data Retention
Local scan data, settings, recent scans, and cached Pro state stay on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app. Server-side purchase and activation records (such as Bravely Account identifier, contact email, entitlement status, and activation request metadata) are retained for as long as needed to honor your purchase, troubleshoot entitlement issues, and prevent abuse. Analytics events are retained for up to 365 days. You can request deletion of your server-side record by emailing jeff@bravely.dev.
Children's Privacy
Diskaroo is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated accordingly. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
